Private Alfred Eccles was just 25 when he was killed in action during WW1. This little bear is named after him.
This is Alfred Eccles, a replica WW1 Soldier Bear standing  31/2 inches  tall and made from blonde short pile mohair I have plucked shaded and waxed him for a "well loved" look.
Alfred has blue glass eyes and a stitched nose and is fully cotter pin jointed. He is stuffed firmly with kapok, used in the making of many early bears and has steel shavings in his body for added weight. He comes wearing the rainbow coloured medal ribbon   with a rusty old safety pin with a bronze coloured "Hope " charm around his neck. (Not shown in the photo)
