Private Gilbert Wheelwright was a Soldier during WW1. He was just 18 when he died in May 1918. This bear is named after him.

Soldier Bear Gilbertis  made from  a light coloured mohair and is fully cotter pin jointed. He has one brown glass eye and one clear eye and a stitched, waxed nose and is stuffed with Kapok. He has steel shot in his body for added weight and I have plucked, shaded and waxed him to look "well loved" He wears a red/white/blue sash with a "Hope" charm attached by a rusty old pin.
