Private Thomas Francis Sparrow was a soldier during WW1. This little bear is named after him.
Thomas is another of my versions of the Bears given to Soldiers going off to war by their loved ones. They were put in the Soldiers' top pockets with their eyes peeping over the top.
Thomas has odd sized brown glass eyes and a stitched nose. He is 4 inches tall and fully cotter pin jointed. Stuffed with kapok, used in the making of early bears and containing steel shot in his body for added weight, Thomas Sparrow has been plucked, shaded, waxed and had faux stitches added to give him a "well worn" look. He wears a bronze coloured "Hope" charm attached to a red white and blue stripped brade on a rusty looking safety pin.
