During World War One many British Soldiers used to be given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the soldiers' top pockets.
Sgt Willie Sibson was a Soldier in WW1 and this bear is in his honour.
He is approx 31/2" tall and made from a golden stubby mohair which I have plucked, shaded, waxed and added faux stitching to. Sgt Willie has green glass eyes and a sparsely stitched nose. He is fully cotter pin jointed and filled with kapok, used in the making of early bears, with added steel shot to his body for a nice heavy feel.He comes wearing a red, white and blue sash held together with a rusty old pin with a silver coloured Hope charm around his neck.
