Private Thomas Henry Gentle, known as Harry was a Soldier during WW1, this bear is named after him.
Harry Gentle is 31/2 inches tall and made of  greyish mohair on a pale golden backing. He has brown glass eyes, one larger than the other and has been plucked, shaded and waxed with added faux stitching to give the appearance of a well loved and worn bear. He is fully cotterpin jointed and stuffed with Kapok, used in  early bear making. He has steel shavings in his body for added weight and wears a red, white and blue sash with a bronze coloured "Hope" charm holding it together with a rusty looking safety pin
