UPDATE: This bear was won by Lyn Morgan

As a thank you to my lovely customers and followers I will be doing a draw  for this little Soldier Bear on Sunday 11th December.

All you have to do to be included in the draw is either share the photo of this bear on Facebook. (You will find him on my Little Scruffs page- there is a link at the top of this page) Or if you are not on Facebook join up to my Mailing List - there is a link down the left hand side of the page, and send a short email to me if interested.  Or you could do both and be in with 2 chances!!

If you are unfamiliar with the story of the Soldier Bears here is a little bit about them.

During World War One many British Soldiers used to be given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the soldiers' top pockets. This little bear is one of my versions of these bears.

I have left the name blank for you to name this bear after a loved one or I can name him after one of the Soldiers who was in WW1 if you would prefer.

He is  approximately 31/2 inches tall and made from light brown mohair which I have aged for a "Well loved" look. He has brown glass eyes and a sparsely stitched nose. He is fully cotterpin jointed and has steel shot in his body for added weight. His head and limbs are firmly stuffed with kapok, used in the making of early bears.

Soldier Bear  comes wearing a tatty sash fastened with a rusty old safety pin with a bronze coloured peace charm on

The water bottle and bandage are NOT included but just used as a prop.
