George is now Sold

Private George Wilfred Stubbington was a Soldier in the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment during WW1 and lived just yards away from where I live now

This Soldier Bear is named after him.

George is 31/2" tall and made from a scruffy two tone mohair on a lighter coloured backing which I have aged for a "well loved" look.He has green glass eyes and a sparsely stitched nose. He is fully cotterpin jointed and filled with kapok, used in the making of early bears. He has steel shot in his body for added weight and wears a bronze coloured charm on a rusty looking safety pin with the words Hope engraved around his neck.
