During World War One many British Soldiers used to be given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the soldiers' top pockets. This little bear is my version of these bears
Pte James Clarke Rayner was a soldier during WW1. This bear is named after him.
James is approximately 3.5 inches tall and has lovely green glass eyes. He is made from blonde mohair that I have pluckerd, shaded, waxed and added faux stitching to and is fully cotter pin jointed.
He is filled with kapok, used in the making of early bears and has steel shot in this body for added weight.
He wears a tatty sash held together with a rusty old safety pin and rusty bell.
If you are in the UK and would prefer to have the bear sent by the lower price of signed for please let me know and I will adjust the postage.
