During World War One many British Soldiers used to be given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones.
Lieutenant Harry Montague  Day was a Soldier during WW1. This bear was named after him

This little Soldier Bear is approximately 31/2 inches tall and made from llama fur. He has green eyes, high up on his head like the original Soldier Bears that peeped out of the Soldier's pocket. He has a stitched nose and comes wearing a red, white and blue sash  with a "hope" charm attached to it by a rusty old safety pin.

Harry is fully cotter pin jointed and stuffed with kapok, used in the making of early bears. He has steel shot in his body for added weight. I have shaded and waxed him  and given him faux stitching to give him  the appearance of a "well loved" bear.
