During World War One many British Soldiers used to be given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the soldiers' top pockets. This little bear is my version of  one of these bears. Today they are much sought after and fetch many hundreds of pounds.

I have recently been naming the Soldier Bears after real Soldiers from WW1 obtained  from this website  http://www.rememberthefallen.co.uk/ . which also includes interesting information on each person.

If you would like a Soldier Bear made and named after anyone from the website or a loved one please contact me.

Arthur Chillingworth was a Corporal in the Coldstream Guards during WW1 and this bear is named after him.
Arthur is one of my mini Soldier Bears  standing at just 23/4 inches tall. He is made from blonde mohair which I have plucked, shaded, waxed and had faux stitches added to him. He is fully cotterpin jointed and stuffed with kapok, used in the making of early bears, with steel shot in his body for added weight.
Arthur has odd sized brown glass eyes and a stitched, waxed nose and comes wearing a bronze coloured "Hope" charm around his neck.
If you would like to reserve any of the Little Scruffs on my site for up to 5 weeks a £10 deposit will secure.
