If you are unfamiliar with the story of the Soldier Bears here is a little bit about them.

During World War One many British Soldiers used to be given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the Soldier's top pocket.

Private Henry Eustace Smith  was a Soldier during WW1 and this bear is named after him.  If you would like any information on the Soldier please let me know as I have more details.

If you would like a Soldier Bear made and named after a loved one please email me.

Henry is  approximately 31/2 inches tall and made from a scruffy greyish mohair on a pale golden backing which I have aged for a "Well loved" look. He has brown glass eyes, one small, one large to make it look like he has had to have a replacement, and he has a sparsely stitched nose. He is fully cotterpin jointed and has steel shot in his body for added weight. His head and limbs are firmly stuffed with kapok, used in the making of early bears.

Henry comes wearing a red, white and blue sash fastened with a rusty old safety pin with a bronze coloured "hope" charm on
